Wanted: Senior Delivery Manager

This is us

We are rb2, a technical development agency. We build web applications. We do this in four locations across Asia and Europe. We are currently with 90+ rb2 employees and have a gigantic hunger to grow. More knowledge, more complex matter and certainly more challenge! We do this from the service proposition in which we can deploy offshore IT teams. From every Agile methodology, including Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and / or XP.

This is what you will do

As a Delivery Manager at rb2, your core task is managing projects. Within that, your activities are on the cutting edge of that of an account manager, Business Analyst and Scrum Master.

From your role as Scrum Master, you know exactly what you are going to do, because those responsibilities are described in detail in the Scrum Guide. Your role is towards PO, towards our development team and towards our organization. On top of that, we have extra challenges awaiting.

In our case there is also an extra responsibility towards advising and communicating with the PO about (technical) strategic choices / priorities for the Backlog. From this role as Business Analyst it is therefore important to also work on our client’s location. And most importantly: it is your responsibility to ensure that our offshore team in China (70 FTEs) feels like an onshore team. Including the same transparency.

Based on the idea that you are often on location with the client, you are also the first (daily) representative of rb2 and therefore you have a broader role that shows overlap with that of an account manager. You work constantly on our client's wishes, but also view the process from a helicopter view; you look at what's going on in the client's organization, spot new opportunities (cross and upsell) and threats.

Ultimately, you also play an active role as 'thought leader' within our company: you have a progressive view on agile methodologies and know everything about it.

This is what we ask

You are a decisive person, who takes proactive responsibility. You organize, manage, involve everyone and are always working on solutions to make the project better. You act honestly and transparently and take care of your project. You are communicatively strong (both internal and external) and the perfect ambassador for rb2. You can serve as a critical sounding board for our client and you can easily put yourself in someone else’s position. Your track record should reflect the following:

  • HBO educational level; 
  • Five years of relevant work experience in a (complex) IT environment; 
  • Knowledge and understanding of IT architecture; 
  • Knowledge and understanding of IT development processes; 
  • Scrum certified, with knowledge of scaled Agile methods, SAFe / Less 
  • You always think of the customer when you take actions, are result-oriented, can communicate well and you are able to deal with organizational sensitivities; 
  • Mastery of English language is a must; 
  • Willing to travel to China; 
  • Willing to work on client's location.
